Day 2 - Corner Brook

Today was our first full day of being on the tour.  It was a typical mauzy day as you will see from the photos.  We were still getting to know our fellow travellers and spent a fair bit of time studying the cards on the bus (for seat rotation) and our travel booklet.

After breakfast our first stop was the Captain Cook Historic Site on the Humber River.  The view from here was unbelievable.  We were very high up and could see for miles (even further if there was not any fog, I am sure!). Here are a few pics:

Captain Cook in his finest duds!

What an awesome view.  I love the layers of colour!

A view of the city.

A viewing post.  Also, this is one of many fences that I photographed on this trip.

Corner Brook is a very hilly city, unlike Deer Lake where we landed on the plane.  The airport was built in Deer Lake due to its flatness.  From Day 1, our bus driver Wayne showed us how good he was at maneuvering the bus on hills and tight corners.  I don't even think I would dare drive my car on some of those hills.
